Use Create Row to add one row to a Data Table and set only the cells needed by the workflow.
Step Library: Data Tables
When to use this step
Use this step when you want to:
- store workflow results as a new structured row;
- create a row from fixed values or compatible workflow variables.
Use Update Row by ID instead when the row already exists.
Before you begin
You must be Table Owner or Table User for the selected table when you configure and publish the workflow.
Configure the step
- Add Create Row from Data Tables.
- Select the step to open its configuration panel.
- Select a Table.
- Set the column values that the new row needs.
- Save or publish the workflow.
Settings
| Setting | Required | Accepted values | Visible when | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Table | Yes | Data Table where you are Table Owner or Table User | Always | Stores the stable Table ID and current column schema in the workflow version. |
| Column value | No | Fixed value or compatible variable for the column type | Table is selected | Sets that cell. An omitted cell stays empty or receives the table column's default value. People values contain user identity snapshots; File values contain Data Table file-reference IDs. |
Data and outputs
Workflow variable effects
This step does not modify workflow variables.
Step outputs
| Step output | Type | Available when | Scope | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Row ID | Text | After success | Following steps in the current branch | Stable ID of the created row. |
| Row | Data Table row Object | After success | Following steps in the current branch | Created row, including Column-ID values, version, creator/updater identity and timestamps. |
| Result Status | Text | After success | Following steps in the current branch |
created. |
Runtime behavior
Execution and completion
Flowifier resolves configured values, validates them against the published column snapshot, checks the workflow version's table authorization and calls the central Data Table row service. The publishing user stored in that authorization becomes Created By and Updated By. The step completes only after the row and quota counters are committed.
Branches and child steps
This step does not have branches or child steps.
Failure, retry and resume behavior
This step does not suspend execution or perform automatic retries. A failed create does not expose outputs.
Errors and limits
| Situation | Result | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| The table or a configured column is unavailable | Publication is blocked, or the running step fails if the resource changed later | Reselect the table and review the mapped values. |
| A value has the wrong type or references an invalid People, select or File identity | The step fails without creating the row | Correct the value or source variable. |
| A table or tenant row quota is reached | The step fails without creating the row | Remove unused rows or change the applicable plan limits. |
| The author loses Table Owner/Table User before republishing | The changed workflow cannot be saved or published | Restore one of the required table roles. Already published versions remain authorized. |
